Dr. Jerry Porter

Dr. Porter was born in Oklahoma, the son of Dr. and Mrs.William Porter. Jerry and his wife, Toni were missionaries to the Dominican Republic to help launch the work of the Church of the Nazarene in that island republic. The assignment included church planting and directing the theological education by extension program. Following rapid and explosive growth of the church in the Dominican Republic, the Porters were assigned to San Jose, Costa Rica, where he served as rector of the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas. During the next seven years the seminary grew to an enrollment of over 100 students on campus with nearly 3,000 in extension centers throughout Latin America.
Dr. Jerry D. Porter is a general superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, Missouri.
